The end of the world is here.
News Corp (which is really FOX), which owns WWOR (formerly UPN 9 in New York) and other stations across the country which are NOT currently FOX stations but are UPN stations is planning on unveiling ANOTHER broadcast network. This one looks like a combo of UPN and Univision in that it will have nightly soap operas in the TV novella format. Yes, they will revolve around skin and sex (actresses on the shows appear to mainly be STUFF models like Natalie Martinez and Donna Feldman (see left), both of whom I am sure can act) not that there's anything wrong with that, but it will also bring us FOX NEWS shows and plans to basically show stuff to questionable for FOX.
Our culture just created a giant "flush" sound.
As if my Tivo didn't have enough to record already.
Apparently we've simply given up on "making" anything worth watching, we just want to watch ourselves. And it's not even ourselves that we want to see--it's the vibrant, slithery, sexy, lubed up inner demons we want to see, the slinkier the better. To me this sounds like "America's Next Top Model" with a script. And what could be better television than that?
